Primary Lead Montessori Teacher-Guide
Little Hoku Montessori Academy serves preschool children between the ages of 3 and 6. Our preschool is conveniently located right off Piilani Highway in North Kihei, on the beautiful island of Maui in Hawaii. Little Hoku’s mission is to provide a safe and fun environment for preschoolers and kindergarteners to grow to be independent and creative individuals.
We are looking for a primary lead Montessori teacher/guide that focuses on the whole child by directing our students in various Montessori activities to nourish their creativity and academics.

Substitute Teacher (Multiple)
Looking for a job to earn a little extra? At Little Hoku, we are looking for PATCH certified teachers, assistant teachers, and aides. Currently, we are hiring for substitute teachers. Substitute teachers will be caring for children ages 3 to 6. This is a fun and engaging environment. However, teachers are not required to be Montessori certified. Applicants are required to pass a background check as required by the state of Hawaii.
Required Job Qualifications
- PATCH teacher/assistant teacher and/or aid certified
- Fingerprinting background check (call 243-5866 for appointment; complete DHS 948)
- Medical (PE and TB)

About Little Hoku
Little Hoku Montessori Academy serves preschool children between the ages of 2.5 and 6. Our preschool is conveniently located inside Kihei Lutheran Church in North Kihei. The church is right off Piilani Highway on the island of Maui in Hawaii. The preschool is an easy commute for Maui residents of Kihei, Wailea, Kahului, and Wailuku. It is also less than 30 minutes to Paia, Makawao, and Kula.
Little Hoku’s mission is to provide a safe and fun environment for toddlers to grow to be independent and creative individuals. Our school follows the Montessori philosophy. Little Hoku focuses on activities by directing our toddlers in various Montessori activities to nourish their creativity and academics.
The lead teacher is Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) certified.
Program
Little Hoku Montessori Academy is a program for children ages 3 to 6.
Little Hoku has one classroom with a Lead teacher, Association Montessori International (AMI) certified and a teacher’s aid, People Attentive To Children (PATCH) certified. Our program offers Preschool and Kindergarten. The school is licensed for 24 students, but sets the capacity at 18 for optimal teacher to student ratio.
